StockYard

Frequently asked questions

Does StockYard take a commission?

No, zero, ever. The distributor’s annual fee is the only cost. Whatever price you agree with the merchant, you keep every cent of it.

How do deals actually work?

A merchant contacts a distributor directly — phone, text, WhatsApp, or email, whichever the distributor chose for that listing — and you agree price, quantity, and delivery yourselves. StockYard is a noticeboard that connects you; it’s never a party to the deal itself.

Is my contact information public?

No. Your phone number and email are never shown openly on a page or visible to search engines. Other logged-in members have to actively tap “Reveal contact” to see them — and StockYard doesn’t send that information anywhere until someone does.

What does the verification step actually check?

Every distributor account is reviewed by hand before listings go live — usually within one working day — to keep the platform to genuine trade suppliers rather than open to anyone who signs up.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, from your dashboard. Access continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and nothing you’ve listed gets deleted — it’s just paused until you resubscribe.

What happens if a listing sells or the stock is gone?

Mark it closed from My Listings — it comes off the public board immediately but stays in your account, so you can reopen it later if needed rather than re-entering it from scratch.

Can a merchant post what they’re looking for, not just browse?

Yes — the Requests page lets any logged-in member post what stock they need. Distributors (and other members) can browse open requests and respond directly if they have it.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, fully. It’s built mobile-first and works in any phone browser — no app to download.

Who actually runs StockYard?

StockYard is built and run independently. That means real, direct support if something goes wrong — not a ticket queue.

What if there’s a problem with another member?

Since deals happen directly between distributor and merchant, StockYard isn’t able to resolve individual disputes — same as agreeing anything directly with another business. If you believe an account is being misused, let us know at info@stockyard.ie and we’ll look into it.
